# DPF Removal and Reinstall Scope in Fresno

Separate diagnostic vehicle work, filter removal, bench cleaning and reinstallation in a Fresno service proposal.

## Start with the warning and service history

Provide the visible messages and recent work without assuming the filter is the only fault. Ask which diagnostic findings support cleaning, repair or replacement.

## Map the work between providers

If one shop removes the filter and another cleans it, identify who controls transport, authorization and return. Record parts or related repairs separately from the cleaning charge.

## Keep return-to-service and compliance distinct

Ask what vehicle checks and service records are included after reinstallation. A repair or cleaning proposal does not by itself include a credentialed emissions test or establish compliance.

### Put these items in the written scope

| Scope item | Confirm before agreeing |
| --- | --- |
| Diagnostics | Accepted vehicle and investigation scope. |
| Vehicle labor | Removal, related parts and reinstall. |
| Records | Completed service documentation and separately agreed testing. |

## Details to gather

- Vehicle and engine
- Warnings and recent faults
- Removal and refit needs
- Available downtime

Assign authorization and transport responsibility before work moves between shops.

## Questions about this request

### Can I book cleaning before diagnosis?

Tell the provider what has already been established. Ask whether further diagnosis is needed before authorizing the work.

### Is replacement included if cleaning is unsuccessful?

Require separate written approval and terms for that possibility. Do not assume a cleaning total includes a replacement component.
